Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Michael Aondoakaa, has said his decision to defect back to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is anchored on his ambition to improve Benue.

Aondoakaa made this statement on Wednesday when he appeared as a guest in an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’.

He stated that his decision to move to the PDP has nothing to do with Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia or the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF George Akume.

The former Justice Minister reiterated that he was the Attorney-General of the Federation under PDP, noting that his defection is like a homecoming.

He further attributed his ambition to his desire to use the increased funds from President Tinubu’s reforms to improve rural areas, provide food and shelter, and ensure that the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations are fully actualized in Benue State.

According to the former AGF, he would do so by activating all laws enacted in the state, including the enforcement of the anti-grazing law.

“My moving to PDP has nothing to do with Governor Alia SGF Akume. I was Attorney-General under PDP government. It’s just like I’m going home to where I was elevated to the position of Attorney General and Minister of Justice to pursue my personal dreams and ambition.

“I have my dreams of carrying out my programmes in a different way. My way is to make sure that the money that is flowing into the state now be utilized for improvement of the rural communities.

“In doing so is for me to have an opportunity to activate all laws enacted in the state and all laws relevant by the federal government for protection of lives and property in Benue State,” he said.
