The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has dismissed his Senior Special Adviser on Works, Ahmed Seriki, for not following instructions regarding premature campaigning ahead of the 2027 elections.
Mr. Peter Ahemba, the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Sule on Public Affairs, announced this during the monthly briefing at the NUJ Centre in Lafia.
Ahemba addressed inquiries regarding why the governor’s appointees have continued to disregard warnings against premature campaigning.
He stated that the governor terminated the aide's position due to his involvement in open campaigning despite multiple reminders against such actions.
Seriki was reportedly dismissed for openly supporting the former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, who has expressed interest in running for the governorship seat in 2027.
In another matter, Ahemba stated that Governor Sule has reaffirmed his dedication to completing the planned Karu flyovers and underpass project before the end of his administration in 2027.
He mentioned that the state government has recently received approval from the Federal Government to build two flyovers and an underpass in Mararaba, located in the Karu Local Government Area of the state.
“This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to provide enduring solutions to the traffic issues, especially along the busy Karu-Mararaba corridor,” Ahemba explained.
“The project will not only facilitate smoother movement for residents, motorists, and travelers but also improve road quality and longevity,” Ahemba added.
