Netherlands coach, Louis van Gaal, has claimed they have spotted a weakness in Lionel Messi’s game ahead of their 2022 World Cup quarter-final clash with Argentina.
Messi has scored three times already in Qatar, with only Poland keeping him out so far.
But Van Gaal has developed a tactical plan to combat the PSG star’s threat.
Speaking to NOS, the 71-year-old said: “Messi is the most dangerous creative player, he is able to create a lot and to score goals himself.
“But when they lose the ball and the opponent has possession he doesn’t participate much, and this gives us chances [to exploit].”
He added: “You will see on Friday. I won’t tell you.”
