As Auger-Aliassime stepped up to serve, he noticed the worrying incident.

Umpire Marijana Veljovic immediately radioed for assistance and both players returned to their chairs.

Both players drank water during the delay as their gruelling battle was momentarily paused.

After around 10 minutes, the contest was able to continue.

Updating viewers about the situation, BBC commentator Andrew Cotter revealed that the spectator was “wobbly” but “okay” and being escorted out by medical staff.

No3 seed Auger-Aliassime found himself locked in a fierce battle with No22 Davidovich Fokina.

The Spaniard is an accomplished player on grass and won the boys singles title at Wimbledon in 2017.

He entered the Championships in excellent form, having won his first pro title at Mallorca last week.

The pair came out serving magnificently, Davidovich Fokina taking the first set in a tiebreak and Auger-Aliassime claiming the second via the same means.
