Vice President Kashim Shettima has promised that the late Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army, Gen Musa Uba, along with his family, will be commemorated.
According to DAILY POST, General Musa Uba and several other military personnel were recently killed by members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State.
While addressing the incident on Wednesday during his visit to Birnin Kebbi, which was prompted by the recent abduction of schoolgirls in the region, Shettima emphasized that the sacrifices made by the fallen soldiers will always be remembered.
“We also recognize the ultimate sacrifice made by some of our courageous officers. To the family of the late Brigadier General Musa Uba, we express that his sacrifice will never be forgotten,” he stated.
He remarked that when a soldier lays down his life in defense of the nation, “a part of our collective soul is affected. We will honor him, his family, and all who have paid the ultimate price in service to Nigeria.”
The Vice President also condemned the abduction of the Kebbi schoolgirls as an attack on the moral integrity of all Nigerians.
He pointed out that the nation has been experiencing a rise in terrorist activities. In recent days, numerous individuals have been kidnapped, and many others have lost their lives due to these criminals.
