WHEN I set off to interview Tyson Fury’s daughter just before her wedding to Noah Price I thought the same as everyone else, “Why is a 16-year-old getting married?”

She’s chucking her life away, she’s just a kid who is not old enough to make that huge decision.

But after that first meeting and then again I’ve worked out why she’s different from the majority of girls her age.

Most are choosing where to go to college, what make-up they like and their first serious boyfriend. They’re hanging around with their mates.

She meanwhile is a married woman. But it makes sense when you meet her because she really could pass for a woman a decade older both in her attitude and the way she talks. There is a directness about her which you don’t get in your average teen. She has her head screwed on, is respectful and utterly polite.

If you try to ask her something she doesn’t want to talk about she will tell you – straight.

It may seem strange but if you look back at her childhood it makes sense.
She has travelled the world with her very famous parents, been in the spotlight snice she was a kid. She’s been in unusual situations where she has had to be professional.

like many other kids – both travellers and non travellers –

So there’s no messing around at playtime, no netball teams, no spending evenings on social media. She has spent much of her life with her family. Yes, with children, but primarily in an adult world.

That makes you grow up fast. You could argue that by not going to secondary school she has missed out on making other friends and maybe dating other boys.

But in her close-knit community the biggest lesson is how to be a success, an adult, a mum – and a wife.

has an A star in that. And is happy with her decision.

And I am sure one day she will make an amazing mother if, as she puts it herself, she is blessed with children.

One of my best friends is from that community so I’ve seen first hand how they wed young – although usually several years older – and go on to have happy marriages.

The abuse has had is so shocking.

She says she “ain’t bothered” about criticism of her decision and doesn’t like “people being unkind” or “spreading badness”.

Who can argue with that?

And let’s remember was her choice, this wasn’t some arranged marriage or a union her parents pushed her into.

She has married for love.

She says: “Yes, I am young, but I found the person I want, and I’ve carried on with my life. Everyone’s got to start somewhere, so I started young.”

Good on her.

Finding love young worked for people like Wayne and Coleen Rooney.

And how many times have we heard people reminisce about grandparents who met young and stayed together for decades. That’s seen as a love story – not something to slate.

The traveller community is often old fashioned – no sex before marriage, respect your elders, have manners – and the women do the housework.

For now, Venezuela is loving that too.

She’s doing what her mum and grandma did before her, making a home.
It it makes her happy who is anybody to criticise her.

Noah isn’t making her do this – or stopping her from doing whatever she wants to do.

In fact he’s guiding her.

Although he admits they’re being helped financially by their families.

But I don’t imagine that’ll be long term. She has made it clear that she loves making her TikTok videos and they are in talks for an

And I am told the brand deals are rolling in.

What I was truly impressed with is how Noah, who by the way also has a great dry sense of humour, is warm and likeable, may be new to the showbusiness world but he’s not getting sucked in by it.

I know he’s already turned down lucrative offers and brand deals because he knows they’re not right for them.

He’s smart.

They may have chosen not to further their education but for these two, who plan to travel across the world and experience adventures together, those qualifications won’t matter.

And I believe they will stay together.

Not just because her dad Tyson has told her that she must never divorce – but because she knows what she wants and what marriage really means.

Maybe instead of criticising them we should see this couple as a new generation of role models. A young couple in love who want to work hard, achieve lots and be kind.

Venezuela’s maturity truly became evident when during our interview she admitted she didn’t understand one of my questions.

Many young women would look mortified.

She didn’t.

She owned it and said to me: “Sorry. I don’t understand.” After I explained, she replied: “Thank you. I am still young, I am still learning.”

So true.

I hope that all those trolls who have made disparaging remarks about her try to remember that.
