US didn’t confirm fourth Iran’s nuclear deal meeting – State Department

Published on May 02, 2025 at 09:00 PM

The U.S. Department of State has clarified that the fourth nuclear deal meeting between the United States and Iran was never confirmed.

Both parties had been expected to convene once more this weekend, following the third meeting which was held last week in the Omani capital, Muscat.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, had initially indicated the rescheduling of a fourth session in a post on X, affirming the Islamic Republic’s determination to achieve “a just and balanced deal.”;

“Together with Omani and U.S. interlocutors,”; Araghchi wrote, “we have decided to postpone the fourth round of talks for logistical and technical reasons.”;

During a briefing, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated that there were, as yet, no details concerning the next meeting regarding Iran’s nuclear programme.

“I shall repeat that the United States was never confirmed to participate in a fourth round of talks anywhere,”; Bruce remarked.

She noted that while the timing and venue have not been finalised, the State Department “will not discuss the where or the when.”;

“From what our people say, and from what our envoy conveys, it appears that something may occur in the near future,”; Bruce added.
