Referee Mike Beltran soon stepped in and stopped the bout with clearly unable to fight on.
But now replays on Paramount appear to show McGregor struggling to keep his footing just before entering the cage – leaving fans confused.
One said: “He looked compromised from the start. Sad to see him go out like this.”
Another added: “He was injured before the fight but had to continue and try to get to the ring.”
One argued: “Why did he bother to enter the Octagon?”
Another said: “Yeah something was off.”
But McGregor himself spoke out to deny entering the fight with prior existing injuries – in a worrying social media post.

He wrote: “My head gasket is gone. Destroyed. I had no injury / injuries going into the fight.
“I was throwing kicks, planted and jumping, all throughout camp as well as backstage before the fight. This came out of nowhere.
“I am beyond dark here. I can only describe it as hell.”
Videos of McGregor, 37, warming up before the fight also show him kicking with what looks to be his full power.

It was his first bout since losing a civil case in November 2024 – in which he was found liable for assault for an incident dating back to 2018.
The court heard how McGregor was said to have “brutally raped and battered” Nikita Hand in a penthouse at the Beacon Hotel in Dublin.
McGregor limped out of the cage in the aftermath of his loss – while Holloway called for a trilogy fight.
Holloway, 34, said: “Let’s give it up for Conor, what an absolute animal.
“You guys are lucky because there is going to be a Holloway v McGregor three now. Let’s get that money.
“It is what it is. I’ll sit down with the UFC. There was so much hype for that. We have to run it back one more time. We need one more.
“I was looking forward to this. I was working hard to get to 170 [lbs] and fight this guy. For it to end like this, it sucks.”
