SOME of the best restaurants are found in the UK – on some very unusual places.

has announced the winners of its annual Travellers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Restaurants , celebrating the highest-rated dining destinations worldwide – and we’ve found the unique ones in Britain.

Over on the river in is this barge turned restaurant that has come ninth in the list of Tripadvisors ‘One of a Kind’ in the world.

The 125 year old Dutch barge serves up seasonal, locally sourced ingredients – and even grows some on its own riverside garden.

Inside Barge East is a lit up tree as well as wooden tables with a panelled interior, and upstairs is a light and airy canopy.

Guests booking a private dining experience can even eat in the Captain’s Cabin.

In the summertime, guests can enjoy a drink and meal in the gardens, from the orchard to the garden, and the rooftop area.

In the there are covers, heaters and even hot water bottles on offer.

You might think being one of the best restaurants has a hefty price tag, but on a weekday, you can enjoy lunch in the garden for £10.

Choose from the Street Food Menu that serves up a choice of burgers, as well as small places and snacks like focaccia, burrata and fries.

On the A La Carte menu are mains like lamb chops with grezzina courgette, Cornish cod with clams and kimchi butter sauce, and catch of the day choices.

The barge is also known for delicious Sunday roasts; visitors can choose from beef, lamb, pork belly, or a trio of roasts, all of which come with roasted potatoes, honey roasted carrots, greens, cabbage, root veg mash and a pudding.

There are drinks aplenty too, including cocktails like the Barge-Arita or Choc orange/hazelnut ‘Bad ‘ martini.

Heading down into the underground (not literally), and you’ll find Cahoots .

The bar and restaurant in Soho is designed to look like a forgotten 1940s underground station called Kingly Court Underground Station.

It’s decked out with everything you’d expect from a 1900s tube station, and you can eat and drink in a vintage carriage.

Inside, you can feast on small plates from crispy squid to scotch egg, mini Cumberland sausages, spiced tortilla chips and fried chicken.

And don’t forget one of there quirky cocktails from the Prohibition Lantern make with mango chipotle milk, Casamigos Blanco tequila, Leblon cachaça, Cointreau orange liqueur, Ancho Reyes Verde chilli liqueur and Paragon Palo Santo cordial.

Or Met Your Matcha made from Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru gin, Nardini Acqua Di Cedro liqueur, green apple & matcha green tea syrup, citrus lemon essence, topped with lemonade.

You can also eat in the Cahoots Ticket Hall with a choice of salads, sandwiches, as well as the signature Ticket Hall Hamburger for £18.

Cahoots recently opened up a new venue which is a 1940s post office-themed cocktail bar on the edge of .

You can’t get more fairy tale than eating up in a treehouse, which is exactly what you can do at The Treehouse Restaurant in Alnwick .

Inside is just as creative with hand-crafted chairs with high backs made from wood, a log fire and twinkling lights which give it a magical feel.

When it comes to food, you can enjoy an A La Carte menu with sharing platters from £10 per person.

Or enjoy large plates like roasted chicken breast with goats cheese mash, Mediterranean vegetables and nut free pesto dressing.

Or dig into a beetroot risotto, balsamic and chilli beets, candied walnuts and vegan feta.

There’s also a choice of a set lunch menu with two dishes for £24 and three courses for £29.

Children’s mains are £7 and kids can enjoy meals like sausage, mash, peas and gravy as well as fish and chips – and get a dessert for £3.50.
