FC Porto president, Pinto da Costa, has insisted that he would be open to signing former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Da Costa also admitted that Porto cannot afford Ronaldo’s salaries, much like the other clubs in Portugal.
Ronaldo is currently a free agent after Manchester United terminated his contract last month.
The Portugal captain is waiting before deciding his future and is currently training at Real Madrid’s training ground following Portugal’s exit from the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 37-year-old has been linked with different European clubs, including Porto.
“See Ronaldo in Portugal? It depends on him and the interested clubs, I think that in Portugal nobody has the capacity to give him the salary he earns, and he wants to keep winning because he still has the quality for that,” Da Costa was quoted by AS.
