Former Chelsea striker, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, has backed the club’s deadline-day move for Barcelona star, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Hasselbaink said Aubameyang, a former Arsenal captain, will be a ‘great signing’ for Chelsea and will bring goals for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Chelsea are desperate to sign a new striker before the summer transfer window shuts and have agreed to a deal with Barcelona to sign Aubameyang.
The agreement will see the Blues pay £12million and also give Barcelona Marcos Alonso, who has been pushing for a move all summer.
Asked about Chelsea’s deadline-day swoop for Aubameyang, Hasselbaink told Sky Sports: “He’s someone who will bring goals and we know he can handle the pressure.
“He’s played for big clubs: Arsenal, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund. Chelsea need a number nine, an out and out number nine, and that is what he is.
“I think if you can sign him for the next couple of years, it’s a great signing. A great signing.”
