need at least a point at home to as a defeat would allow to scramble to safety if they beat at the London Stadium.
Romero has been out with a knee injury since April and would not have been fit to feature against the Toffees.
But Vega, who endeared himself to fans by putting in a heroic performance on a BROKEN ANKLE, is fuming that the club captain will not even be in the stands to cheer on his team-mates.
He wrote on X : “When I think about what Romero is doing as captain for a club I played for it’s utter disgrace and disrespectful!
“Before the 1999 Final I was already limping with a broken ankle for weeks before the final I also had my Swiss International games coming up after the final at Wembley!
“I risked my international career for the club playing with a broken ankle to finally win a cup.
“I was out for nearly nine months after the final with a risk of not coming back!
“I thought I was crazy then but I’m telling you what I would do again and again winning for Spurs is a privilege and to wear the shirt! COYS.”

“He spoke with the medical staff. Together, they decided to go to to complete rehab with Argentinian medical staff.
“We spoke last week. With me, he has shown he wants to stay with us.
“I want to be clear, I am not stupid. If I understand that there is a player who thinks for himself before the club, I cannot be the same Roberto.”
