The teenager who called the Duchess of Sussex “beautiful” during a school visit has written a letter to the Duke after “cuddling” his wife.

On Friday, Meghan Markle made a surprise visit to Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham where she made a powerful speech about International Women’s Day.

During the speech, Aker Okoye, the school’s head boy, was invited on stage by Meghan to discuss his thoughts about the feminist event.

After shaking hands with Meghan and greeting her with what appeared to be a kiss on the cheek, the 16-year-old student joked: “She really is beautiful, innit. I had to speak the truth there” prompting laughter from both his classmates and the former Suits actor.

Now, Aker has written a letter to Meghan and Prince Harry about the meeting, which he describes as “the best day” of his life.

The handwritten note, published in The Sun, reads: “Dear Harry and Meghan. Harry, hope you don’t mind me writing this letter.

“I hope you didn’t mind me cuddling your wife. I was just overwhelmed and shocked to see her arrive at my school.”

Aker continued by saying it was a pleasure to hear Meghan’s speech before calling her “truly inspirational”.

He added that he nearly got the chance to meet Harry when he recently visited Dagenham but sadly missed him.

The teenager hugged Meghan Markle after being invited to join her on stage (PA)

“I nearly met you (Harry) last year when you came to East London to open the Future Youth Zone but I was away with the school. I hope to meet you one day,” Aker continued.

“Good luck for the future. With kind regards, Aker.”

The teenager will be posting the letter to Buckingham Palace, where the couple have an office until 1 April as they step down from their senior roles.

Aker said he decided to write the letter to make sure “Harry doesn’t have a problem” with him hugging Meghan and explained that the duchess “found it funny”.

“I was overwhelmed to get the chance to speak in front of someone so famous and important. I just wanted to grab the opportunity,” Aker explained.

“I thought she was amazing and so special. Her talk was very inspirational. I was in awe of her. She is beautiful and elegant. It’s all a blur.”

The royal couple are due to take part in their final scheduled engagement on Monday when they attend the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey alongside other senior members of the royal family.

They will begin their new life as financially independent royals on 31 March.
