A TEENAGE boy, 17, has been found dead in a rural village as cops arrest five people on suspicion of murder.

Police were called to a property in Abertridwr, Caerphilly, south Wales, at around 5.45pm on Thursday.

Officers discovered a 17-year-old boy with serious injuries and he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene in Lower Francis Street.

Gwent Police have since arrested five people on suspicion of murder.

Three men, aged 26, 24, and 18 were detained and remain in custody.

The force also arrested two women aged 28 and 24 on suspicion of murder.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “A 17-year-old from Abertridwr was pronounced dead at the scene; his family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“Three men, a 26-year-old from London, a 24-year-old from Abertridwr and an 18-year-old from Cardiff, were all arrested on suspicion of murder.

“Two women, a 28-year-old from Hereford and 24-year-old from Senghenydd, were both arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

“All five remain in police custody as enquiries continue.”
