The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a new three-day electricity disruption in certain areas of Lagos.

The agency stated that the electricity interruption is due to planned maintenance of the Ala/Alagbon 330 kV transmission line, scheduled from November 26th to November 29th, 2025.

TCN’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, shared this information in a notice released on Friday. The disruption will impact electricity distribution within the Eko Electricity Distribution Company’s coverage in Lagos South and parts of Ogun State, which includes areas such as Ojo, Festac, Ijora, Mushin (including Orile), Apapa, Lekki (including Ibeju), Lagos Island (including Ajele), and Agbara.

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) would like to inform the public that scheduled maintenance will be conducted on the Aja/Alagbon 330 kV transmission line from November 26 to November 29, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day.

“This maintenance is necessary to allow TCN contractors to install wave traps on the 330kV line bays at the Aja and Alagbon Transmission Substations located in Lagos State. During this time, supply from the Alagbon Substation will be redirected to the Ijora 132kV line, while supplies to the Akoka and Oworo Transmission Substations will be rerouted to the Ikeja West 132kV line.

“TCN clarifies that there will be a brief disruption in load due to the diversions on the affected lines; however, these areas will continue to receive a normal power supply throughout the maintenance period.

“TCN regrets any inconvenience this may cause to electricity consumers within the Eko Disco franchise and kindly requests understanding, emphasizing that this exercise is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of transmission infrastructure in Lagos State,” TCN stated.

In July and October of this year, TCN conducted similar maintenance exercises.
