Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has continued his top form with Denmark after the fans’ favourite created more chances in a single match than any other UEFA Nations League player this season.
The Danes defeated the reigning World Cup champions France 2-0 on Sunday evening in Copenhagen to finish second in League A Group 1.
Eriksen wasn’t directly involved in either Kasper Dolberg or Andreas Skov Olsen’s goals, but the maestro controlled the tempo of the match with ease and set a Nations League record in the process.
Eriksen also created eight chances for his teammates, the highest tally in a single game that any player in the competition managed in 2022.
As the Dane returns to Manchester, ahead of the resumption of Premier League action, he will hope to continue his form into Sunday’s highly anticipated Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.
