POPULAR TV show Big Break is set to return to our screens later this year – and new co-host Paddy McGuinness has treated fans to a sneak preview.

The Take Me Out presenter, 52, is joining forces with seven-time world champion for the snooker-themed game show’s revival.

Big Break – which was originally on air between 1991 and 2002 – .

And McGuinness has given a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the set he and Hendry are working on.

The pair posed for a snap in front of the new-look Big Break logo before uploading it onto Instagram.

wrote: “We’ve just started filming!!! So nostalgic being on set, can’t wait for you to see it!”

Some of snooker’s biggest names will battle it out alongside their contestants in three rounds of trick shots to reach the dramatic finale on each episode.

And Hendry, who has , will treat viewers to some outrageous attempts of his own.

The Big Break reboot is also in line to have fast-paced snooker frames with a comedic atmosphere.

After getting the gig, McGuinness said: “I am absolutely delighted to be a part of Big Break.

“It is one of those shows everyone knows and loves, so to be hosting it alongside legend will be something special. Bring it on.”

Hendry, 57, added: “Big Break was a unique mix of trick shots and great entertainment.

“I can’t wait to be back at the table and bringing this incredible show to a whole new audience.

“Who knows, we might inspire the next generation of snooker players to get into the sport.”

Big Break is on course to run alongside BBC Sport’s popular .

Rob Unsworth, who is head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning, said: “Snooker fans and pros alike have been calling for Big Break’s return, so we’re excited they’ll get their wish – and can even apply to take part.

“This revamp will showcase some of the game’s best known and up-and-coming faces, as well as tapping into the deep well of snooker fandom online and already on the BBC.

“The recent World Championship pulled in 120 million viewing hours, so pairing upcoming live coverage with the new Big Break will mean audiences can come together with the whole family to enjoy more of what they want.”

The popular game show was previously fronted by John Virgo, who in February, and comedian Jim Davidson.

The broadcast date for the first episode has not been confirmed by BBC bosses.
