RUGBY fans have blasted ITV for showing adverts in the middle of Ireland’s Six Nations clash against France.

The two teams kicked off the tournament this week as the French started their defence of the crown.

Antoine Dupont’s side were 7-0 up early on when a Samsung Galaxy advert popped up during the match – with the screen split in two as it played.

Fans weren’t happy about the unusual interruption as one said: “Seriously @ITVRugby??? An advert DURING the game? Six Nations is a shambles.”

A second added: “ITV should never be allowed to show a Six Nations game again. Adverts at scrum time ffs, I want to listen to the commentary!”

A third fumed: “Adverts during the game while scrums are preparing in the Six Nations is a new low for sport coverage in the UK.”

Another wrote: “Ads on six nations on ITV tell me we aren’t turning to USA with ads in matches.”

And one said: “I’m sorry ITV, I’m not quite sure what I just saw there, but it looked like you were trying to play an advert side by side with a live sporting event. Please don’t ever do that again.”

Others joked: “Can we not send people to jail for this?”
