SEAN DYCHE has emerged as the top candidate to be appointed as the next manager of Nottingham Forest, according to reports.
The previous manager was dismissed after just 39 days and eight matches without a win, culminating in a loss on Saturday.

The style of the former Tottenham manager was significantly different from that of his predecessor.
Postecoglou’s high defensive line and pressing strategy contrasted sharply with the low block and counter-attacking approach that brought Forest success in Europe last season.
Considering the squad's inability to adapt to such a drastic change in style, the City Ground management is now seeking a manager who aligns better with the current team's dynamics.
The former manager, aged 54, is believed to be a suitable match for Forest's global head of football, Edu, and global technical director, George Syrianos.
Consequently, The Athletic reports that he is now the front-runner to be named the club's third manager this season.
Discussions had also been held with a Premier League title-winning manager, but reports suggest he is not likely to return to England.
A potential approach for another manager was also considered, but he is expected to remain at Craven Cottage.
Forest fell into the relegation zone over the weekend following a 2-0 victory for Burnley over another team.
The club managed to secure only one of a total of five points this season under Postecoglou, with a single draw against Burnley.
However, during a discussion on the situation,
He expressed frustration: “I think it was (inevitable) for the owners regarding his standards for the club.
“I recall last season when he believed they were heading into the relegation zone, but that didn't materialize; they ended up in Europe, which was not satisfactory. Obviously, Nuno was sacked after that.
“But in terms of football – five games, 39 days in the Premier League, and you’re getting sacked. It seems absurd to me.
“I’m unsure where they’re headed in terms of football. I understand the results have not been favorable, but regarding a manager trying to implement his philosophy…
“We knew Nuno managed a defensive-style team; now we know Ange prefers to be more aggressive.
“We often discuss giving managers time to instill their vision for the team. And for him to have only five league games…”
Forest will host Portuguese giants in the upcoming match on Thursday, followed by a trip to Bournemouth next weekend.
