Fans are stunned by Ronnie O'Sullivan's unexpected snooker opponent as legend teases with a clever one-word post!

SNOOKER fans were delighted to see who Ronnie O’Sullivan was playing against in his free time.

The was getting ready for his bout with Shaun Murphy when he shared a game with an unexpected opponent.

He uploaded snaps of himself playing with legendary star on Wednesday.

The picture, shared on to the 49-year-old’s 1.1million followers, has racked up over 16,000 likes.

Fans loved seeing two of the best to ever do it sharing the table again.

The duo share the honour of having won the joint-most World Championships in history, with seven each.

One fan commented on the post: “14 World Championships in One Frame”

Clearly it was a statistic that O’Sullivan was familiar with, having captioned the post simply with the number ’14.’

Another fan gushed: “Two legends going about their business.”

While a third fan claimed they were: “The two greatest to ever play the game.”

Unfortunately for O’Sullivan, his preparations could not extend his run in the competition.

He fell to a 4-0 defeat to Murphy in the second round to end his tournament in Riyadh.
