The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has charged members of the 2025 Batch A Stream I of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, deployed to the state to embrace selfless service and dedication in order to meet the aspirations of their host communities.
Ibas gave the charge on Tuesday during the official closing ceremony of the three-week orientation exercise held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, in Tai Local Government Area.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the NYSC State Governing Board, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, the Sole Administrator urged the Corps members to uphold the highest standards of responsibility and patriotism throughout their service year.
In a statement signed by the Head of the Press Unit, Juliana Masi, Ibas further assured the Corps members of the hospitality and goodwill of the people of Rivers State, encouraging them to integrate fully and contribute meaningfully to the state’s development.
“Your service is an opportunity to leave lasting legacies in your host communities.
“Approach your assignments with commitment, innovation, and a genuine desire to make a difference,”;; he stated.
Also speaking, Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, commended the Corps members for their exceptional performance during the orientation course “despite the demands of regimented camp life”;;.
He expressed confidence in their preparedness to excel in the next phase of their service year, where they will be deployed to key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture and rural infrastructure.
Oleghe further appealed to stakeholders, community leaders and employers to support the Corps members with conducive accommodation and adequate welfare provisions to enable optimal performance.
