Former Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil, has reacted to Morocco’s 2022 FIFA World Cup 1-0 win over Portugal on Saturday evening.
Ozil said Morocco’s victory over Portugal would give many people much power and hope.
Recall that Morocco knocked Portugal out of the World Cup thanks to Youssef En-Nesyri’s only goal of the match.
Reacting after the match, Ozil, in a tweet via his Twitter handle wrote, said he was proud of the Morocco team.
The former Real Madrid star tweeted, “Proud. What a team! What an achievement for the African continent & the Muslim world.
“Great to see such a fairytale is still possible in modern football – this will give so many people so much power & hope.”
