The initially revealed plans in 2019 that showed their River Trent-side stadium increasing capacity – this was given the green light last summer.

But it was not until December 2025 that Forest to make the new-and-improved Peter Taylor Stand 58 metres tall.

The grand plans could increase the capacity by 12,500, taking it to – but will first aim to reach 45,000.

Forest, who recently parted ways with – are awaiting two planning application decisions on their request to demolish the five West Bridgford homes that they bought.

The properties – 17, 19, 21 and 23 Colwick Road as well as 27 Rosebery Avenue – are closest to the John Robertson Stand.

But if they are torn down, then construction will not be held back once Rushcliffe Borough Council grants permission for the revised plans.

In the planning documents, Savills wrote that the club is seeking permission to demolish selected buildings as part of the full planning application.

They added that, while progress is being made on assessing the application, Forest need to carry out enabling works as soon as possible to minimise disruption to the City Ground’s day-to-day operations and avoid seasonal constraints.

They added: “The demolition of selected buildings onsite in advance of full planning permission will result in a significant programme advantage.

“This is because NFFC can then commence building the new stands once precommencement conditions have been discharged with the various demolition, enabling, and site preparatory works already having been undertaken.”

The midlands outfit – who finished 16th in the Premier League last season – told the district council that they are set on starting the 12-week demolition process on September 1.

Fans had initially been told planning approval was targeted for May, with early enabling works due to start this summer.

Now planning documents are pointing towards a new approval date of September 16.
