PETER WRIGHT has boldly claimed he will win a third World Championship title despite suffering the worst season of his career in 2025.
The two-time world champion crashed out of the world’s top 16 after failing to win a single title and not reaching one major semi-final all season.

‘Snakebite’ was ranked inside the top 10 just three years ago and lifted his last major title that same season at the European Championship.
But Wright insists he still believes he can return to the very top of the sport and even predicted a dream final against teenage sensation .
He said: “At the end of the year when I’m lifting the World Championship! Yeah, I’m going to win it.
“Hopefully, I play in the final. If not, , because they’re the best two players in the world.”
Wright also admitted there has been one positive from dropping away from the sport’s elite after years on the road as a Premier League star.
He added: “To be honest, I didn’t really do anything. I just enjoyed the time off and did things around the house, well, Jo gave me jobs around the house!
“But yeah, I just enjoyed life in general because when you’re a Premier League player, you don’t really get time to enjoy your family and friends because you’re always on the road trying to please the fans and improve as a player.”
The 56-year-old Scotsman’s slump has led many pundits to question whether his time at the absolute pinnacle of darts has come to an end.

However, Wright remains notoriously unpredictable, and his determination to silence the critics has only grown.
And Wright is confident that a rigorous practice routine will help him rediscover the consistency that once made him a dominant force on the PDC circuit.
