PET owners say a simple tool can yank fur out of carpets even after you’ve already vacuumed, and some swear it works “better than a vacuum.”

The hype took off after pet parents wondered if rubber brooms and carpet rakes pull up hidden hair that a regular cleaner leaves behind.

Walmart is selling a version for about $35, and shoppers claim it can “rake” up hair deep in the fibers.

The debate popped up on Reddit, where one cat owner asked if a rubber broom is worth it.

They said they already vacuum a few times a week and usually feel like the floors are clean.

But they worried “a ton more hair” could still be lurking in the carpet.

The poster said people with pet allergies are a big reason they want every last strand out before visits.

The poster added they’d tried a stiff nylon carpet rake before, but it mostly just fluffed fibers and didn’t seem to pull hair from low pile rugs.

They asked if their vacuum’s beater brush and tangle removal means it’s already doing the job.

A guide from Cooks Direct argues carpet rakes work because they agitate the surface and bring trapped hair and particles up where they can be removed.

The site says that action can help lift fur that’s stuck down in the fibers so it can be removed.

It also says rakes can be used alongside cleaning solutions to help thoroughly clean carpets and fluff up flattened areas.

It adds they don’t just work on carpets, but can also be used on rugs, upholstery, turf, and other surfaces.

Another selling point is noise, the guide calls carpet rakes quiet, lightweight, and easy to use.

Cooks Direct claims rakes can pull out fur that vacuums can’t reach, leaving floors looking cleaner and “hair-free.”

The site points to the Room Groom Carpet Rake sold on Amazon as one popular option, as shoppers hunt for tools that lift stubborn pet hair.

For allergy-prone guests, the idea is simple, rake first to loosen hair deep in the pile, then vacuum to remove what’s been lifted to the surface.
