PAUL SCHOLES left Paddy McGuiness speechless and Nicky Butt questioning their friendship when they discussed films on the latest episode of their podcast.
Scholes, who has co-presented the podcast The Good, The Bad and The Football with the aforementioned pair since September 2025 insists he doesn’t have the focus to watch a film.

Considering he was one of the most creative minds the Premier League has ever seen, that’s quite a staggering revelation.
said: “I don’t have the concentration to watch a film.”
McGuiness replied: “Right, just hang on a minute here. Have you seen The Good, The Bad and The Ugly? The spaghetti western?”
Scholes: “No, I don’t think so.”
: “He doesn’ watch films, Paddy. You’re not listening to me. He doesn’t watch films!”
McGuiness: “He’s got to have watched a f***ing film! Do you just sit in with curtains shut drinking f***ing sprout juice?!”
Scholes: “I’ve watched Happy Gilmore. I’ve watched that.”
McGuiness: “,” nodding to the fact Scholes will only watch TV if live sport is on.
Red Devils legend Butt started to explain how Scholes was the only Man United player who did not watch DVDs when they travelled to away games.
He also suggested Scholes doesn’t like to leave his house, either.
Scholes: “I don’t like sunlight.”
Butt: “Pretty sure he’s a vampire”.
Scholes did finally concede he did have a favourite film – but only because it wasn’t very long.
Scholes: “The best film I went to, it was called Phone Booth. Because it was only on for about an hour, that was the best film I’ve ever seen.
“If the kids want to go to the pictures and see a film, the first thing I look at is the running time.”

Butt: “I can’t believe I call him a friend.”
Phone Booth is a film that almost exclusively takes place within – you guessed it – a phone booth with the briefest of appearances from Kiefer Sutherland.
Despite McGuiness’ fury, it did perform very well at the box office.
Maybe Scholes does have taste!
