The series Warrior based on an original concept from Bruce Lee offers fans a masterful martial arts story full of compelling period drama. The show was Cinemax’s final series before the premium cable powerhouse stopped making original titles, and many are wondering if it will be heading to Netflix.

The series stars Andrew Kojima as Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who travels to San Fransisco in the late 1870s to finds his sister. Instead, he gets caught up in a turf war between rival Tongs and political turmoil between the Chinese and the Irish, which constantly ends with violence in the streets.

Marco Polo and Deadly Class actress Olivia Cheng stars in the series alongside Kojima. Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and F9 star Jason Tobin is also in the series. In addition, F9 director Justin Lin serves as an executive producer along with Bruce Lee’s daughter Sharon Lee.

The show’s action sequences are superb, and there is no shortage of well-choreographed fight scenes throughout its well-written two-season run. When it was announced that a third installment was on the way, many people were curious to learn whether or not Warrior would be making its way to Netflix.

Is Warrior on Netflix?

Netflix subscribers should brace for impact, as the news regarding Warrior‘s Netflix status is going to feel like a swift kick to the head. Warrior is not on Netflix, will not be coming anytime soon, and it might never will.

The show was made available on HBO Max and subscribers have really responded to it, so much so that another iteration was ordered from the platform. It seems for the foreseeable future, Warrior will be exclusively available on the HBO Max

While this news is not ideal, there are plenty of other action-packed series on Netflix with solid martial arts action. These include Iron Fist, Daredevil, and The Defenders. There are also several films available like The Next Karate Kid, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword fo Destiny, Ip Man, Maria, and more available on the streaming service.
