Fans of the Bridgerton series, did you hear the news? Netflix and Shondaland are giving us a limited prequel spinoff. Grab your smelling salts cause this might make you faint.
In addition to the renewal of the series for a second, third and fourth season, Deadline has reported that we will be getting a Queen Charlotte-centric spinoff series. Can you imagine? It sounds like we will get the origin story of the Queen. What made her into the fierce woman who has everyone bowing and scraping for her favor.
Queen Charlotte is currently played by Golda Rosheuvel and couldn’t have been cast any better. She can carry on a conversation without opening her mouth; those facial reactions are enough for the whole room to know what she is trying to convey. And who will they select to portray a young Charlotte? She will have to be formidable.

Bridgerton spinoff plot synopsis
The new announcement regarding the spinoff has only been announced. Still, from the early accounts, this series will focus on a young queen and feature the young versions of Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury, according to the report.
Historically, Charlotte was brought up in Germany and didn’t met her groom, King George III, until the wedding day. If this series will look into her love life, perhaps the writers will give her a glorious new story where she spends time in England and falls in love with the king.
Queen Charlotte is a reimagined character for the series since she wasn’t featured in the novels by Julia Quinn, which the series is based on. With that being said, a reimagining of her past could become a reality.
It will be exciting to see who they cast for the younger versions of the Queen, Violet and Lady Danbury as the current actresses are so fantastic as these characters.
