Throughout its six seasons Teen Wolf did more than just entertain its viewers, it taught them important lessons about life itself.
MTV’s Teen Wolf was a force right out of the gate which quickly managed to captivate viewers across the globe. The show and its characters managed to pull viewers in week after week during its six seasons keeping them glued to their televisions for 100 episodes.
However, incredible storytelling and captivating characters were just a few of the ingredients which made up the formula to the show’s success. As noted above, Teen Wolf managed to do so much more than just keep the viewers entertained during its stretch of 100 episodes: it managed to teach us several invaluable lessons about life which they can hold onto long after the legacy of the show begins to fade.
Things Teen Wolf taught us: Family Isn’t Determined by Blood
Perhaps the most obvious of the life lessons Teen Wolf taught fans is that blood isn’t what truly makes up a family. Family is never giving up on one another even when the going gets rough. It’s always being there in the corner of the ones you love and always having their back even when everyone else turns their back on them and walks away.
Throughout all the ups and downs, Scott and his pack mates never turned their backs on one another. When their friends went through good times or bad times, Scott, Stiles, Lydia and the entire pack were there to pick one another up and were often the reason they were able to make it through their darkest hours.Next: Never Judge a Book by Its Cover
Things Teen Wolf taught us: Never Judge a Book by Its Cover
It’s a cliché that we’ve all heard before, but Teen Wolf really brought home just how important it is to never judge a book by its cover.
As Scott and his pack learned along their journey, people can surprise you in life – be it by stepping up to be the ally you never knew you had or the threat you overlooked.
Across the show’s 100 episodes, we met characters who seemed completely harmless at first and who we thought could be trusted only for them to turn out to be the evildoer lurking in the shadows pulling the strings. Meanwhile, there were other characters whose actions during our first interactions led us to assume they could never be trusted only for them to prove us wrong when they emerged as some of Scott and his pack’s greatest allies.
Things Teen Wolf taught us: Relationships Take Work
So often in the world of television and movies, relationships are made to look simple. However, as the Teen Wolf writers so beautifully showed us throughout the show’s six-season run, relationships take work and aren’t near as effortless as other series and films might lead you to believe.

Things Teen Wolf taught us: Life Can be Hard, But Never Give Up
In life, there are going to be times when things don’t go exactly how you expected and you’ll hit your own personal rock bottom. However, as Scott, Stiles and the rest of the pack proved time and time again, even in the darkest of hours there is always hope for a better tomorrow; you just have to persevere and never give up.
Of course, there are going to be days when nothing seems to go your way, but if you continue to strive towards your goals and push forward there’s no telling what you might achieve. Sure it won’t be easy, no one said it would be, but if you just keep pushing forward there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and the trials you’ve face will make you stronger when you come out on the other side.
Things Teen Wolf taught us: It’s Okay to be Different
Over the course of its show Scott and his pack faced countless threats. The reason they were able to get through each obstacle life threw their way was because they relied upon the unique strengths of every member of the pack. They embraced their differences and used them to their advantage – making them stronger as a result.
If there’s one thing that Teen Wolf viewers should take away from their time watching the show, it’s that it is okay to be different. No two people are the same in this world and it’s often our differences that make us stronger. It’s those little nuances that make you who you are.
Rather than trying to change who you are to fit into the world around you, embrace it. Let it be the force that drives you and remember it’s okay to be different!
