Ross Mathews Has Lost 50 Pounds

Ross Mathews, the exuberant TV host and Rupaul’s Drag Race judge, has dropped 50 pounds during quarantine. Whoa! That’s a 50-gallon drum of KY Jelly! Like many of us, Ross has struggled with his weight for many years. Way back in 2007 he went on Celebrity Fit Club and lost 41 pounds (214 to 173). But this time his weight loss was triggered by something more serious – his mother’s death. Her passing inspired Ross to reclaim his health.

41-year-old Ross lost his momma in May. She was only 69-years-old. Too young! This was the tribute he posted at the time:

After his mom passed, Ross met with a nutritionist to discuss makin’ changes. He says she suggested cutting out alcohol, but he said, “NUH UH”, because it’s a pandemic and he just suffered an enormous loss. Instead, he switched over to lower-calorie cocktails. Presumably, he’s also been exercising (he has a stationary bike, dumbbells, and a pool), but mainly he’s been eating well and posting his healthy “Rossipes” cooking videos on the ‘gram:

I need to watch some of these videos, because I am officially out of meal ideas that aren’t just some variation of cheese, carbs, and meat. One day I got all ambitious and bought a bunch of frozen spinach from the grocery store, but, like, what do I do with it? Help me, Ross, you’re my only hope!
