Alright, Riverdale fans, we are nearly two months into the show’s hiatus on The CW, and we’re definitely starting to feel empty without the bonkers town with pep in our lives.
The last we left off in Riverdale season 5 no one was in a good place. Whether it was this season’s murder mystery, relationship drama, or more shadowy dealings with Hiram Lodge over his SoDale project.
Here’s when to expect the show’s land on the platform.
Riverdale season 5 release date on Netflix
When Riverdale first went on hiatus, fans were prepared to stick out their time without the show until its return in July. However, 5B has since been pushed back to Wednesday, August 11, which was disappointing news to receive.
But we do at least have confirmation that the original lineup of Josie and the Pussycats will be making their debut in the time jump allowing Riverdale fans to see who Josie, Melody, and Valerie are 7 years removed from their high school selves.
With this delay comes even more wait time for Netflix viewers of the show. Riverdale is slated for at least 19 to 20 episodes this season which means season 5 isn’t set to wrap until October, and that’s if there aren’t any scheduled breaks.
The earliest Netflix fans of the series can hope to see season 5 is mid-October. That’s a five-month wait nobody wants to deal with but it’s our reality Riverdale fans.
The cast and crew of the series are currently filming 5B. Toni Topaz fans will be happy to know Vanessa Morgan has returned to set with her baby boy in tow. The Queen of the Serpents will make her return in the back half of the season.
