Money Heist is one of the most popular Netflix shows in the world right now. It’s been that way ever since the Netflix original series premiered on the streaming service back in 2017.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen new episodes of Money Heist, though, and now, fans are waiting for Money Heist season 5 to arrive on the streaming service.

Currently, there are four seasons of Money Heist available to stream on Netflix. Technically, it’s more like two full seasons spread over four parts.

Every season of Money Heist so far has been eight episodes. That’s not the case for Money Heist season 5.

Money Heist Season 5 will consist of 10 episodes, two more episodes than any season so far. That has to be good news to fans of the series.

There are some rumors going around online that the final season is even more than 10 episodes, but we haven’t been able to confirm any of those rumors. Netflix also lists 10 episodes on the media center, so more than likely, those rumors are false.

When is Money Heist season 5 filming?

Money Heist Season 5 started production in the summer of 2020. We don’t have a confirmed start date for filming, but we know it started sometime after the fifth season was announced. That’s when we started seeing stuff from Alex Pina, the cast, and the crew on social media, anyway.

It looks like Money Heist season 5 was still filming as of spring 2021. It could push the release date back if the season doesn’t wrap production soon.

We have some interesting news about the Money Heist season 5 release date to share. In April, Netflix shared Money Heist season 5 will be released in the second half of 2021. This information was released in Netflix’s Q1 letter to shareholders. Netflix knows how popular this show is globally, and they want everyone to know it’s coming later this year.

We won’t be seeing Money Heist season 5 on Netflix in May 2021 or anytime soon, although it appears there is some contradictory information going around.

According to a report from Express, we can expect the release date for Money Heist season 5 sometime after September 2021. That’s what Pina said recently, anyway. That makes sense, though. Later, Small Screen reported that a source told them season 5 is aiming for a September release date on Netflix.

We have a pretty good feeling that Money Heist season 5 will be released in October, November, or December. I’m expecting the new season to arrive in October because I think Netflix has a stacked lineup for November and December, and the streaming network will want to give Money Heist its own window to really be celebrated. There should be enough time to finish post-production on season 5 by then.

It’s possible we could see the season in September, but with production still happening in the spring of 2021, it’s going to have to be a quick turnaround for a September release date.

Money Heist season 5 will be the final season of the series, so it’s only right for Netflix to release the show before we start seeing the other big new releases coming in November and December.
