The Netflix original anthology series Love, Death & Robots has some of the most visually stunning, instantly riveting, and wickedly funny titles the streaming service has to offer, and its no secret that fans are eager to know as much as possible when it comes to Love, Death & Robots Volume 2.

When it comes to fantastic anthology properties, Netflix is where it’s at, containing some of the best the industry has to offer. This includes The Haunting franchise, Black Mirror, American Horror Story, and, who could forget, the exemplary reimaging of a long in development reboot of the 1981 animated sci-fi film Heavy Metal from Mank director David Fincher and Deadpool director Tim Miller. Love, Death & Robots is a smorgasbord of well-crafted short stories using all kinds of epic animation, each made by different individuals, resulting in a wild ride of unexpected gems that culminated in several distinguished Annie Awards and Emmys.

The cast for the first run was rather impressive, consisting of Topher Grace, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John DiMaggio, Chris Parnell, Samira Wiley, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Omid Abtahi, Christine Adams, Josh Brener, Gary Cole, and more. It will be interesting to see who they have recruited for the second outing. One name that has come up is Michael B. Jordan adding to the many reasons fans shouldn’t sleep on this Netflix original.

The streaming network announced the show would return for a second iteration with a brand new set of stories in June 2019. Jennifer Yuh Nelson, the talented director of Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, was brought in to be supervising director for Love, Death & Robots Volume 2.

The second installment of the well-received and highly creative anthology series has been in development since it was announced in June 2019. The stylish animation and enthralling stories are nothing to be rushed, and with the COVID-19 pandemic caused delays popping up left and right, it would seem that it probably took longer than anyone initially conceived for the Love, Death & Robots Volume 2 to be released. It does, however, seem like it will be worth the wait in the end.

The first run of the series came all the way back on March 15, 2019, and for some, it could feel like forever since then, making the anticipation for new unique adventures in the no-holds-barred format, which allows for some fantastic creativity to unfold. Luckily, the wait will end soon, and the mystery of when the next chapter will arrive has finally been announced.

The release date for the next chapter was announced on April 19, 2021, along with the news that there will be a Volume 3 coming in 2022. The Emmy-winning anthology series Love, Death & Robots Volume 2 will be available on Netflix for subscribers to stream in its entirety on May 14, 2021.
