Got time on your hands to check out some movies on Netflix this weekend? Here are five that are worth your attention, including the documentary Why Did You Kill Me?

The good thing about the weekend is the time to chill out and watch TV. Netflix may be quiet this month, but there are still some great movies to check out. It’s all about working through the list to find the most interesting options.

Whether you want a documentary or a movie about cars, you’ll find something this weekend. We’ve broken down the releases to pick out the best movies on Netflix so you don’t have to worry about feeling overwhelmed about all the choices.

5 must-watch movies on Netflix this weekend

Why Did You Kill Me?

The first is a true-crime documentary, Why Did You Kill Me? After the murder of her daughter, a mother turned to social media to find her killer. She focused on one of the earliest social media sites, MySpace.

This mom created multiple fake profiles in an attempt to get answers and catch people out. Some may say it’s wrong, but others might just be on the side of this grieving parent. The documentary looks into her actions and what they led to.

Crimson Peak

Need a thriller with some supernatural elements? There are a few movies on Netflix that offer that, but Crimson Peak is the one for this weekend.

Mia Wasikowska stars as Edith, a young woman who ignores her father’s apprehensions about Sir Thomas Sharpe. When she marries him and moves to his stately home, she realizes that maybe her father was right. There’s something going on between Thomas and his sister, and what’s with all the ghosts in the place?

Rush

Fans of Formula 1 will want to check out the 2013 movie Rush, which is now on Netflix. Daniel Brühl and Chris Hemsworth star as Niki Lauda and James Hunt, with the movie focusing on the rivalry between the two drivers.

It all takes place during the 1976 Formula 1 season. This is more than just about a race and a rivalry. Both men get some excellent development, making you feel for them individually so you can’t really pick a side.

The Soul

No, this isn’t Disney Pixar’s Soul. The Soul is a foreign-language thriller.

It focuses on a prosecutor and his wife who investigate the death of a businessman. The two find a connection to the occult, which leads to their own life-or-death situation. On top of that, they have their own family drama to contend with that came before the mysterious death.

The Zookeeper’s Wife

We head to the past with The Zookeeper’s Wife. Jessica Chastain stars as Antonina Zabinski, a woman who cares for the animals at the Warsaw Zoo.

Set in 1939, the focus is on the Nazi invasion in Poland. Antonina and her husband, Dr. Jan Zabinski, have to report to the newly appointed chief zoologist. While working with him to protect the zoo, they also secretly work with the Resistance to save their country. How will it work out?
