Armie Hammer Has Filed For Joint Custody Of His Children Claiming His Estranged Wife, Elizabeth Chambers, Won’t Return From The Cayman Islands

Back in July, Armie Hammer and Elizabeth  Chambers announced that they are getting a divorce. Despite being married for ten years and together for thirteen, the couple just could not make it through the coronavirus quarantine and they filed for divorce. Since then, Armie has maybe dated a few chicks, including Rumer Willis, but Elizabeth and their kids have stayed in the Cayman Islands where they were all quarantining.

After Armie and Elizabeth split, he left the Caymans for the States. Armie hasn’t been back to visit them so he hasn’t seen his kids in months. So he’s filed court papers asking for joint custody, telling the court that Elizabeth will not return to Los Angeles.

The Blast says that Armie is trying to get a judge’s help in reuniting with his two children, 5-year-old Harper Grace, and 3-year-old Ford Douglas Armand. Which is interesting considering he pretty much just dipped after splitting from their mom. In his legal filing, Armie said that when he and Elizabeth broke up, he returned to Los Angeles from the Cayman Islands where they’d been quarantining because Armie’s father lives there. And that was the last time he saw his kids. Elizabeth said she would return to LA on the “first flight” in October but that hasn’t happened and so now he’s been forced to take it to the courts:

“When I asked Elizabeth when she was coming home, however, she first told me that the airports were closed. Then I was informed through her attorneys that flights were merely limited but that she and our children would be back in Los Angeles on the first flight in October. It is now several weeks into October and they have not returned.”

Armie’s lawyers, Laura Wasser (Our Queen of Divorce staying booked and busy!) and Erica Lubans, filed the documents, saying that he hopes Elizabeth isn’t trying to “limit his contact” with his children.

“Armie sincerely hopes, however, that Elizabeth is not trying to limit his contact with their children, and that her recent decision to keep the children in the Cayman Islands away from their father is a well-intentioned though misguided effort to navigate the current pandemic,” the document states.

“I believe we are both good, loving parents, and I have tried to be patient as I know that this a stressful time for all of us who are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. I have no doubt that Elizabeth and I both want what is best for our children,” Armie says. Adding, “But I have not seen our children since July and I miss them deeply.”

Elizabeth’s team responded by basically saying that life is better and after for them in the Caribbean. Well except for that time their son cracked his face open falling out of bed. But that could happen anywhere. She also suggested that Armie is reckless, which may endanger their kids:

“There are still no cases of COVID and the children are able to live a “normal” life in contrast to being in Los Angeles having to wear a mask and stay indoors, especially now given the fires and poor air quality,” they said in a letter.

Adding, “Armie, however, elected to stay in Los Angeles.”

Interestingly, they added, “We have concerns regarding Armie engaging in behavior which many would consider putting him and others at risk.”

I think that we all know that the risky behavior she’s really talking about is that mustache he grew out. After seeing a man like that I would wait a few months before I let him around my children too.
