Acknowledging the high cost of living, Adeleke stated that the state government empathised deeply with workers and continued to collaborate with the Federal Government to mitigate economic hardship.

“We feel your pain as a government that remains committed to your welfare at all costs,”; he said.

Adeleke highlighted that Osun State had reduced inherited debt by over 40 per cent without incurring new loans, citing confirmation from the Debt Management Office, DMO.

“We are managing state resources in ways and manners that no sector is left behind,”; he said.

The governor noted that the administration’s economic policies had revitalised the business environment, including the successful implementation of a 45-day window for the processing and issuance of certificates of occupancy.

Said he, “Our government is rebuilding the state economy to benefit the people. Through our local content policies, Osun money is servicing Osun people.”;

He also announced the approval of over N4 billion in bonds for retirees under the contributory pension scheme, divided between state and local government beneficiaries.

“This is a major move to honour our pensioners,”; Adeleke stated.

Details of the disbursement include N2.17 billion for state-level retirees and N2.09 billion for local government and primary school pensioners.

Additionally, Adeleke confirmed the commencement of 2025 promotion exercises for eligible civil servants across both state and local government services, further boosting morale within the public workforce.

“As I speak, the April 2025 salaries and allowances have been paid to all categories of workers across the state,”; he said.

Governor Adeleke reiterated that the state is nearing completion of the 30-month backlog of half salaries, especially for contributory pensioners, and reaffirmed the continued provision of free healthcare for senior citizens.

He also stated that Osun has consistently implemented the new minimum wage and addressed all outstanding deductions inherited from the previous administration.

In line with service reform, Adeleke revealed that capacity building for public servants remains a top priority.

“A well-trained public service will enhance our effective service delivery. Our government has not, and will not, betray the confidence Osun workers and people have reposed in us,”; the governor affirmed.
