Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has charged the state’s athletes to be of good behaviour at the ongoing Sports festival in Benin, Edo State.

Aiyedatiwa said this during his visit to the state’s contingent on Tuesday.

He said, “I advise you to be law-abiding, stay within the rules of the game and compete fairly and put in your best.

“I can see that you are all in very high spirits and ready for the Games. I know you will do us proud and we will welcome you back to Ondo State as heroes.”

The deputy governor’s visit, according to table tennis star Mati Taiwo, will go a long way in inspiring the state’s athletes at the sports festival.

“The deputy governor has definitely lifted our spirits and morale, we hope to give our best and do the state proud.”
