B.C.’s public safety minister is set to provide an update Friday morning about COVID-19 travel restrictions in the province.
Mike Farnworth is expected to give more information on enforcement related to the restrictions.
Last week the province announced fines of $575 for anyone heading outside of their health authorities for non-essential purposes.
The government has previously said it is looking at checkpoints, similar to what drivers would see over the holidays for drinking and driving.
The road checks will be set up near ferry terminals and on highway corridors that connect different regions of the province.
The order will be in effect until May 25.
The press conference will be streamed live above, on BC1 and on the Global BC Facebook page.
More to come.
