Netflix doubles down on 365 Days franchise: Confirms 365 Days Parts 2 And 3 in development

Fans of Netflix’s international film 365 Days are in luck as it seems Netflix has big plans for the controversial series which quickly shot into the Top 10 across the globe in 2020.

Although the controversy surrounding the first film led many to question whether Netflix would look to adapt future adaptations of author Blanka Lipinska’s book trilogy, Deadline now reports that the streaming powerhouse is not only looking to make a sequel to the film but has already greenlit a third film in the franchise as well.

Similar to how Netflix has filmed other original films in the past, Netflix is reported to be looking to film the two sequel films back-to-back which should help streamline the process for when fans can look forward to the two follow-up films arriving on Netflix.

Also helping the films to reach audiences sooner than anticipated is the fact that Netflix is taking control of the franchise with the upcoming sequels to be produced in-house at Netflix with the original producers on board to assist with production. This is also said to allow Netflix the opportunity to take a more cautious approach to some of the book franchise’s more controversial themes.

365 Days part 2 is indeed happening at Netflix, with the streamer confirming a sequel to 2020’s breakout hit in development. It has also been confirmed that the franchise leads Michele Morrone and Anna-Maria Sieklucka will both be returning for the follow-up film.

Is 365 Days part 3 happening?

In addition to greenlighting 365 Days part 2, Netflix has also confirmed 365 Days part 3 is in development with the two sequels filming back-to-back. At this time, no release date has been announced, however, we anticipate the third film in the franchise will likely arrive on Netflix sometime in 2023.

It is also expected that both Michele Morrone and Anna-Maria Sieklucka will be back for the third film which will draw inspiration from the third and final book in the franchise, Another 365 Days.
