The Naira experienced its first appreciation this week against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Thursday.

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria indicated that the Naira strengthened to N1,441.4445 against the dollar on Thursday, an improvement from N1,443.08 exchanged on Wednesday.

This indicates that the Naira gained N1.64 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.

In contrast, the black market saw the Naira remain stable at N1,465 per dollar on Thursday, maintaining the same exchange rate recorded on Wednesday.

According to DAILY POST, aside from Thursday, the Naira depreciated throughout the week, with the most significant decline occurring on Wednesday.

The apex bank’s foreign reserves data revealed a continued increase, reaching $43.42 billion as of November 12, 2025, up from $43.39 billion the day before.
