The mother was seen staggering out of her apartment in a dressing gown before collapsing in a grassy area.
Alana, who had recently discovered her pregnancy, sustained stab wounds to her legs, abdomen, shoulder, and back.
March later confessed to police, saying, “I did it, I killed her ha ha ha. Send me to jail where I belong. I regret nothing.”
The coward was sentenced to life in prison today in his absence after he refused to attend, stating: “It’s just sentencing.”
He pleaded guilty to murder on the seventh day of his trial after forcing Alana’s family to endure the painful details of her death.
It was later revealed that double killer March was previously convicted of murdering a 17-year-old boy in 2000.
He was sentenced to life in prison at the age of 21 after fatally stabbing Andre Dummond in a McDonald’s.
March was released on license in early 2013 but was recalled to prison later that year after assaulting another partner.
However, he was released again in February 2018, where he subsequently targeted mother-of-two Alana.
The Old Bailey heard that Alana withdrew from her friends after she began dating March, as he controlled her behavior and movements.
She confided in a friend that March had prohibited her from speaking to others, discarded her child's toys, and smashed a glass in her face.
Alana also mentioned that they argued frequently and that she was required to answer March's calls at all hours to inform him of her whereabouts.
Tragically, two of her former partners—the fathers of her two children—had passed away.
Prosecutor Louise Oakley stated: “She was vulnerable and only wanted to be loved. She desperately sought to create a family environment for her two-year-old daughter.”
The court was informed that the couple had been together for approximately four months when she learned she was pregnant.
However, March had threatened Alana and accused her of infidelity, claiming the unborn baby was not his.
She showed her sister voice messages of March yelling and threatening her, insulting her, asserting that their unborn child was not his, and demanding she have an abortion.
Ms. Oakley remarked: “She admitted that she was afraid of the defendant.”
“There had clearly been physical violence. You will hear references to a glass being smashed in her face.”
On July 21, Alana messaged her sister stating that March was “acting up.”
Her sister replied: “Oh sis, you deserve so much better x.”
Alana added: “You can’t choose who you love, but he doesn’t love any of us.”
Ms. Oakley informed the jurors: “Little did she know that hours later, she would be dead.”
Around midnight, neighbors reported hearing a commotion and a man shouting: “I’m not letting you back in, I’m fed up with you, you always do this.”
Alana was found outside in her dressing gown, crying and pleading: “I don’t want to kill my baby.”
