Non-league boss slapped with SIX-GAME touchline ban after saying women officials ‘need help parking’

DORKING WANDERERS chairman and manager Marc White has been hit with a six-game touchline ban after comments he made about female officials in football.

, 51, has been no stranger to controversy in the years he has been in charge of Dorking – a club he founded himself back in 1999.

A statement released on X by Dorking confirmed that White will be absent from the touchline for six games starting at the beginning of the upcoming campaign.

The National League South outfit wrote: “Following (intended fun) comments made on a podcast regarding women drivers, First Team Manager Marc White has received a six-game touchline suspension to be served from the beginning of the league season.”;

It has not been confirmed exactly what comments have led to White’s ban, but a video has since emerged on social media of him discussing female officials and drivers.

In a clip of him talking about a “12-stadium ban”; during the most recent campaign, White said: “This year, I’ve gone easy, mate.

“Obviously, more women refs now, so you have to pay a bit more respect. Do you know what I mean?

“You have to pay a bit more respect, like help them park. Do you know what I mean?”;

White led Dorking to a sixth place finish in the National League South last season, ultimately losing to Boreham Wood in the play-off quarter-finals.

The businessman, former player and manager founded Dorking with a group of friends in 1999, going on to play for the club and manage over 1,000 games.

Dorking achieved 12 promotions in their first 23 seasons, reaching the National League in 2022 before being relegated two years later.

White has come under criticism during the club’s rise for and touchline behaviour.

He has received a number of touchline bans and was charged by for acting “in an improper and/or threatening manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words towards match officials”; in 2023.

Speaking on the Undr the Cosh podcast in the past, White lashed out at the severity of punishments handed out by the FA.

As per The Athletic, he said: “The FA are transitioning from traffic wardens to a Gestapo or something. Everything’s about suspensions, bans and fines.”;

White has also been outspoken against the need for FA coaching badges for managers, claiming that they are unneccasary.

White, who holds no FA coaching badges, said: “I ain’t got f*** all.

“I got told, and I think this is true, I got told that to be in the EFL you have to have a badge to be a manager.

“People keep saying, ‘Marc, do you know if you get promoted you’ll have to get a badge’

“I will start a nationwide campaign to tell the EFL to get to f*** if I’m getting a badge”;.
