MANCHESTER UNITED and West Ham clash in Sunday’s Premier League showdown at Old Trafford.
Man Utd vs West Ham preview
Sunday’s Premier League clash between Manchester United and West Ham is largely a dead rubber, with little left to play for on either side.
It’s clearly one for the purists at Old Trafford, as both teams â and their fans â may have wished their domestic seasons had ended weeks ago.
United can finish no higher than 12th following a dismal campaign with 16 defeats â their worst tally in a league season since finishing 13th in 1989â90.
However, supporters are unlikely to care about that with a Europa League final secured, offering a shot at silverware and a return to the Champions League.
As a result, manager Ruben Amorim is expected to rotate heavily once again.
West Ham have endured a similarly forgettable season. Sitting 17th with just nine wins from 35 games and the fourth-worst goal difference (-19), they are winless in their last eight matches.
Since taking over on January 9, Graham Potter has recorded just three wins in 15 league outings (D5 L7).
Still, the visitors may draw confidence from having won three of their last four league meetings with United.
However, those all came at the London Stadium. At Old Trafford, the Hammers are winless in their last 16 Premier League visits (D3 L13), losing the last four without scoring.

Goals
I’m expecting goals on Sunday afternoon, especially with the pressure off and stakes being at an all-time low.
Manchester United played out a seven-goal thriller against Brentford last time out with a weakened XI, and it could be a similar story this time around following their Europa League semi-final.
Four of United’s last eight home matches have yielded over 4.5 goals. They also boast the third-highest xG from open play over the last four league matches along with the seventh-highest xGC (expected goals conceded).

Bowen
If West Ham are to score, as we predict, it’s more than likely to come via talisman Jarrod Bowen.
Only Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes (6) have been directly involved in more Premier League goals since the beginning of April than Bowen (3 goals, 2 assists). He ranks top for all key metrics such as shots, shots on target and xG for his side, and is clearly in form having netted three in his last five PL appearances.
He’s also struck twice in his last three games against the Red Devils.
