I’ve been making this recipe for over 10 years, and it is THE way to have sweet, fruity, frosty margaritas in just a few minutes. By doubling the recipe, you can easily make a pitcher of drinks for parties or picnics that are always a huge hit.

What Makes This Recipe So Good

Fruit sorbet – Because fruit sorbet is made without cream, the sweet, refreshing flavors of the fruit shine through. Depending on the flavor, it can be tart, strong, or just deliciously sweet.
Tequila – It’s not a margarita without tequila!
Lime juice – A little lime juice helps bring out the fruit in the sorbet and gives the drink a little tart citrus flavor.

How To Make Fruity Frozen Margaritas in 2 Minutes

Blend all the ingredients on high speed until combined, about 20-30 seconds.

Pour the margs into salt- or sugar-rimmed glasses and serve with wedges of lime or fruit.

Top Tips For Making

  • I used strawberry, raspberry, and mango sorbet with these margaritas, but you can use any sorbet you like. For the perfect traditional margaritas, look for lime sorbet.
  • To rim your glass, make a small cut down the middle of a lime wedge. Stick this cut right on the edge of your glass, and rub the lime all the way around. Dip the lime-covered edge into a shallow bowl or dish filled with coarse salt or granulated sugar.

What Kind of Tequila Should I Use?

There are five types of tequila, all made in Mexico from the agave plant. If you’re not a big tequila drinker, it can be tricky knowing which one to pick. Here’s a quick breakdown of each type:

  • Blanco, also called silver, plata, or white – The purest agave flavor since it’s not aged in an oak barrel. Blanco is great for cocktails (and what I used for this one) since it is a stronger tequila and sweeter.
  • Reposado, also called rested or aged – Aged for two months to a year in oak barrels, reposado is flavored by the aging process, but also retains the sweetness of the agave.
  • Añejo, also called extra aged or vintage – Aged for a year to three years in oak barrels, añejo is richer and less intense than the younger versions of tequila.
  • Extra añejo, also called ultra aged – If the tequila is aged for anything longer than three years, it’s considered extra añejo. These tequilas are smooth and quite pricy.
  • Joven, also called gold or oro – This tequila is not 100% agave and includes additives like sugar, oak extracts, or artificial coloring. It’s another good choice for cocktails since the flavors mix well.
