A MAN has died following a collision with a BMW on a busy UK motorway – with cops searching for the driver who fled the scene on foot.

Emergency services were called to Junction 4 on the M4 in Hillingdon at around 11.35pm on Monday.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 63-year-old man died at the scene after a white Golf and a black BMW 320i crashed on June 1.

The BMW driver fled the scene on foot with officers now searching for the motorist.

London Ambulance Service was called to M4 near Heathrow Airport following reports of a collision.

Paramedics from the service’s hazardous area response team as well as trauma teams were deployed to the scene.

One of the injured tragically died with two other people rushed to a major trauma centre.

A woman, 62, is said to have life-threatening injuries, with a 29-year-old man said not to have life-threatening injuries.

It is understood that the was being pursued by Thames Valley Police before the fatal collision.

After the horror crash, the man, described as Asian with a heavy build, fled the scene on foot.

Detectives are now working to locate the driver.

Detective Inspector John Millward, who leads the Met’s Roads and Policing, said: “Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the people involved.

“Our specialist detectives are now working at pace to identify the establish the exact circumstances of the incident and locate the driver of the second car.

“He is described as an Asian man of heavy build, wearing dark clothing and carrying a black rucksack.

“We urge anyone with information to urgently contact the – particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11:40pm yesterday (Monday 1 June) to reports of a road traffic collision on the M4 near Heathrow Airport.

“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART), a paramedic from our tactical response unit and an advanced paramedic.

“We also dispatched trauma teams in cars from London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated three patients at the scene. Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, one of the patients died. The two other patients were taken to a major trauma centre.”
