Last year, a host of singletons made their mark on the villa – yet many including model Sophie Lee were
, with the hunk previously already seen on-screen in TV series, Are You The One?
Now fans have now called on casting bosses to avoid the “influencer pipeline” of stars for the next show.
One took to Reddit to muse: “I’ve been looking at the 2026 casting rumours and it’s the same old story: TikTokers with 2M followers, All Stars who have already been on three other shows, and people who clearly have a PrettyLittleThing deal waiting in their inbox before they even enter the villa.
“I genuinely think the show has lost its spark because everyone is too scared of their brand to actually be messy or authentic.
“My proposal for the 2026 Summer Series: A Civilian Only rule.
“If you have over 10k followers or a blue checkmark, you’re disqualified. Give me the dental hygienists, the primary school teachers, and the builders who don’t know how to find their light for a selfie.
“Would this bring back the Season 2/3 vibes we all miss?
“Or is the influencer pipeline just an unavoidable part of modern reality TV now?
“Curious to hear if you guys think this would save the show or if a normal cast would just be boring”.
One was quick to reply: “Zero influencer/ content creator on mainstream TV would be a great way to go”.
Another mused: “Yeah and I think it’s what the public want and would get loads more viewers. They still have to be conventionally attractive, though. Suggestions that some contestants could be 18 stone + etc are ludicrous and would be really unfair and sad, actually”.
One simply put: “Yes please – ban them all forever”.
Love Island winner Cach's reality TV past
Before his arrival in the villa, Cach appeared on , which aired back in 2022 on .
He was 20 years old at the time and competed under his real name, Cacharel.
Cacharel was introduced on the show as a student from Acton, West , who was studying in Nottingham.
Alongside his studies, he also worked part-time as a children’s instructor, model and dancer, with ambitions of opening dance schools around the world.
In his original cast profile, he described himself as an “old soul” who tends to date older women.
He revealed he’d already had two long-term relationships, but said he had never experienced “that feeling” of finding the one.
He added: “I’m a romantic at heart,” as he joined the search for his perfect match.
Are You The One? UK saw a group of singles enter a house to find their scientifically chosen matches, with a £200,000 prize fund on the line if they correctly paired up by the end of the series.
Cach was one of ten men taking part in the matchmaking experiment.
Another added: “I’d love it. But for financial reasons I don’t think they can do that.
“Influencers draw viewers which is very helpful for audience and itv’s shopping / linked digital aspects”.
During the 2025 UK instalment, Megan Forte Clarke entered the villa with a whopping 20,000 followers on TikTok before even appearing on screen.
Personal trainer Dejon Noel Williams’s social media accounts were also full of sexy photos of his ripped body and he already had an Instagram following of more than 11,000 fans.
He was also known by sporting fans, and in 2021, he represented the Grenada national football team.
