Lost in Space season 3 is not coming to Netflix in May 2021

Ever since the Netflix sci-fi series Lost in Space first premiered on the streaming platform, it has received some pretty positive reviews, including a 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.3 out of 10 on IMDb.

The Netflix original series does a great job at balancing the scariness and uncertainty of space survival with the care and affection of family sticking together through it all. Ultimately, it does a great job at paying homage to its 1965 series of the same name and is a great watch all around.

With its second season premiering last year, a third season was expected to air by now, but it looks as though we may have to wait a little longer as Lost in Space season 3 is not coming to Netflix in May 2021.

Lost in Space season 3 release date on Netflix

We can rule out season three premiering at the same time that the first season aired which was back in April 2018, especially considering the fact that Lost in Space season 3 was not a part of Netflix’s April 2021 releases.

Additionally, with the second season premiering in December 2019, there seems to be no pattern regarding the series’ season releases as season 3 did not release in December 2020, but that may have been due to the global pandemic.

So when can we expect a season 3of Lost in Space?

Based on what we know so far, a third season may release sometime later this year, with dates ranging from as early as summer 2021 or as late as winter 2021.

Also, according to What’s On Netflix, a fall 2021 release date may also be in the cards for fans of the drama series.

We know it’s a rather broad and all-encompassing prediction, but a release date this year does sound reasonable as it has been reported that filming for the third installment wrapped back in January this year, which is definitely a good sign.

However, as there is no official release date, we can expect that date to change at the whim of Netflix.
