In January, reports indicated that her family has been prioritizing her care.

Now, her Birds Of A Feather co-star, aged 80, has provided an update on her dear friend.

Speaking with Bella Magazine, the actress stated: “Pauline is not doing well after being diagnosed with dementia some time ago.

“She’s not okay right now. I haven’t had the chance, but I plan to visit her next week.”

Pauline was heartbroken as she came to terms with her diagnosis.

In February, she remarked: “What a wonderful actress she is and how much joy she has brought.

“Not just in Birds of A Feather but also in The Sculptress, where she was truly captivating, and in Broadchurch and Emmerdale. I have immense respect for Pauline. She’s incredible.

“I won’t discuss her illness right now, as that is a private matter.”

Reflecting on her own experiences, Lesley shared that she has witnessed the effects of dementia up close.

She mentioned that her own mother experienced joyful moments in her later years, despite the challenging illness.

Lesley stated: “I lived through dementia with my mother, who lived to nearly 104.

“Even in her nineties, she was still playing tennis and was full of life as she aged; she was an extraordinary character.”

Pauline gained fame as the beloved Sharon Theodopolopodous in Birds of a Feather, alongside Lesley and Linda Robson.

Although she has stepped back from acting in recent years, her influence on British television remains substantial.
