Of course, in close-up, one can understand that it is Ranveer Singh and not me. On Monday India’s legendary World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev turned 61. A poster of his look has also been released.

Kapil Dev made his debut for India against Pakistan in Quetta on October 1, 1978 and since then there has been no turning back. Now Kapil Dev has given his reaction regarding this film.

Ranveer will essay Kapil Dev in upcoming sports drama ’83, which follows the journey of India’s iconic World Cup win of 1983 under Kapil Dev’s captaincy.

“I hope not. I am the captain, I am a team man”. I vaguely remember that it was some writer from South India who had published my picture playing that shot next to the picture of God Natraj and from there it got popular. “We played out of sheer passion, and I think in any journey the hard part comes when expectation arises”, Kapil told IANS. I don’t see it as a solo performance, it’s a team performance. That’s how the game of cricket is. It is not about one person but everybody. It is slated to hit the screens on 10 April 2020. Now Ranveer Singh has shared some more photos with Kapil Dev. He said I was a bit confused with what they (filmmakers) are doing. I just gave the information about the story to see what they make. “We are very different people”.

Bollywood is infamous for twisting the story of actual occasions as a way to add drama and the standard masala it’s recognized for. I did not know how it would appear on the screen, but I can just hope that the film should do good at the box office. This film, which is so special, will grow again in all the hearts of the hearts because the match was extremely critical and once again won Kapil Dev and an Indian band that we can relive with director Kabir Khan.
