THE body of a journalist who recorded her own kidnapping at gunpoint has been found after attackers tried to dissolve her body in acid.
Mexican authorities said remains found in the eastern state of Veracruz belonged to the missing .

Director of news outlet Pulso Informativo del Sureste, Roxana was abducted after armed thugs broke into her home.
Local media has now reported that after killing Roxana, the twisted attackers tried to dissolve her body in oil drums filled with fuel.
Authorities later discovered skeletal remains at the property.
In a statement, the Veracruz state prosecutor’s office said: “Forensic tests concluded the identification process and scientifically confirmed that the remains recovered during the belonged to the journalist.”

Investigators said eight people have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and killing, including four municipal officers from Ixhuatlan del Sureste.
This is a small town about 300 kilometres south of Veracruz.
The officers allegedly provided resources, food, and logistical support to the crime group involved.
Harrowing footage showed men dressed in black arriving outside her home in June.
In the early hours of the morning, the gang used sledgehammers to batter their way through the front door as horrified relatives screamed inside.
At one point, a shirtless relative confronted the intruders as they broke through the entrance.
However, he was quickly met with the barrel of a gun aimed directly at him.

Relatives say Roxana was then dragged from the property and driven to an unknown location.
The abduction sparked alarm among press organisations and freedom groups across .
According to group Article 19, two other journalists have been killed this year in connection with their work.
The organisation also says as many as ten journalists have been killed since President Claudia Sheinbaum took office in October 2024.
Roxana had recently published stories about complaints that rotten eggs were being sold in the area, as well as coverage of a family seeking compensation after an accident involving a municipal vehicle.
Reports also noted that Roxana previously fled Veracruz in 2017 after her husband was shot dead in Nanchital.
She later returned to the state and earlier this year founded her own digital media outlet.
In recent months, Roxana had announced plans to expand her reporting across communities in southern Veracruz through a combination of live broadcasts and citizen journalism initiatives.
